In Australia, only migration agents registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) are allowed to give immigration assistance. Registered migration agents (RMAs), including those who operate and have offices overseas, must act in accordance with the Code of Conduct for registered migration agents. Compliance with the Code of Conduct is regulated by the OMARA. It sets knowledge and practice standards, investigates complaints and imposes disciplinary sanctions.
